New this year in the juvenile division, instead of savings bonds, 1st and 2nd place winners will receive a plaque, rod & reel, ice chest and a tackle box. 3rd place winners will receive a plaque, rod & reel and an ice chest.

This year’s BBQ Cook-Off is a "State Recognized Championship". There will be $5,000 in prize money awarded this year.

Coastal Expo, Saturday from 10am – 8pm, will be going green this year. Come to Riverplace (air conditioned) and see what's new.

There will be live bands scheduled Wednesday through Saturday. Entertainment headliners will be Bri Bagwell on Friday night and Elida Reyna on Saturday night. The carnival is booked and ready to go.

In the past year, the Freeport Host Lions Club has donated over $72,000 to many organizations, some of them being The Backpack Program, The Light House Learning Center, Habitat for Humanity, 2S-4 Disaster Relief, Texas Lions Camp, Freeport Girls Scouts, Police Explorers, Action S, Junior Achievement, and have given out 28 Scholarships.

Fireworks will be Saturday night @ 9 PM, as always free admission to the park.
